Rural City Journal welcomes pitches that help readers understand the rural-urban edge through a clear question, a specific subject and a useful way of looking at place.
What to pitch
Propose an original feature about settlements, land use, connections, shared space or place names where rural and urban patterns meet. A strong pitch identifies the question, explains why it matters to general readers and describes the angle that makes it distinct from existing coverage.
What makes a useful contribution
Keep claims proportionate to the material and explain what a reader can reasonably conclude. We welcome clear comparisons, careful explanations and practical ways to observe a place. Avoid unsupported generalisations, promotional copy and advice that depends on local rules or professional judgement.
How to send a proposal
Send pitches and questions through the Contact page. Include a working title, a short summary, the proposed category and a brief note about your relevant experience. A proposal is not a promise of publication; please do not send a complete article unless requested.
